General Information about the Hike
  • To do the hike it’s NOT required a reservation.

  • You most have to buy an entrance ticket in our office.
    • Cost: $10 dollars
    • Nationals or residents who show the ID document form CR: ¢3.500
  • The parking has security and the cost for the ticket is $5 or ¢2500

  • Access schedule: from 7:00a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (on Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.). It might change depending on the weather.

  • Hour of departure or closing time at the falls is at 3:30pm.

  • Pets are not allowed.

Distance:

  • From the office there are 11km (5.5km or 3milles each way).
    If you have a car, continue to the PARKING area and from there start the walk of 7km (3.5km or 2milles each way).

Description:

  • This is not a tour; you go by your own.
  • The visit starts in our office, where you buy the entrance ticket, if you have a vehicle drive to the parking area. For those coming by public bus, the hike has to stars from the office.
  • At the parking you will find restrooms, showers andchanging rooms.
  • From that point there are 3.5km of hiking around 1 hour to go and 1 hour to get back.
  • From that point there are 3.5km of hiking around 1 hour to go and 1 hour to get back.
  • The Trail is up and down, not flat and on rainy season it will most probably be muddy, therefore, we recommend bringingclosed shoes.
  • The walk is intermediate (it’s not easy) and it’s not recommended for small children, older adults, pregnant women or people with health problems.
  • Upon arriving at the waterfalls, you will find rest areas, restrooms, and drinking water.
  • Swimming is allowed at the waterfalls (as long as water conditions permit). If you are looking to take a refreshing dip, visiting during summer is recommended. To experience a more impressive waterfall flow, the rainy season is the best option.
  • We are located in an area with a highly variable climate, so even during the dry season there may be rainfall, and during the rainy season there may be sunny days. The weather is difficult to predict.
  • The latest allowed stay at the waterfall is until 3:30 p.m.; during the rainy season, it may be earlier. It is recommended to enter before 1:00 p.m.
  • During the dry season, from Monday to Saturday, our properly identified staff assist with jumps from the middle of the waterfall, during the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.. It is recommended to enter between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
  • The return is made via the same route as the entrance. ``
  • The 4×4 return service has a cost of $12 (cash only), subject to availability and with priority given to guests who take the full tour.
  • Upon returning to the parking area, you may use the showers and changing rooms before concluding your visit.
  • Pets are not allowed, except for licensed guide dogs on a leash, for safety reasons.
